Child dies Enterovirus D68 - A 10-year old girl from Cumberland, Rhode Island is the latest victim of Enterovirus D68. The victim joins three other people who have died from the complications of Enterovirus D68. What exactly is Enterovirus D68 and how can it be avoided?

According to reports by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the latest child dies Enterovirus D68 is one out of four people whose life was claimed by the virus. However, it remains unclear as to how the virus had led to their death.

"We do know of patients who have died, and specimens from those patients indicate that they were infected with enterovirus D68,"stated Director of CDC Division of Viral Diseases, Mark Pallansch.
