Memphis mob knockout attacks have been recorded again this month. The first attack took place at a grocery store where three people were injured, one currently in a critical condition. According to eyewitness events, the attacks reported were about the latest trend, "Point Out, Knock Out." What is the "Knock Out" trend about and who are involved?
The Memphis mob knockout was first recorded on September 26 when around 100 black teens took part in a mob beating. One unlucky white man was victim to the "Knock Out" trend, which is a form of entertainment for teenagers where they point out a victim and knock them out with one hit.
"They were playing a game called 'point them out, knock them out,' where they would point someone out and then attempt to knock them out or attempt to fight them. There was no real reason behind it," stated the eyewitness present at the Memphis mob knockout.
However, the Memphis mob knockout wasn't the first reported case. In New York, a man headed home had also been attacked in a method similar to the "Knockout" trend. Another "Knockout" incident involved a teacher in Pittsburgh.
Another case in Memphis unrelated to the knockout trend was when a group of ten kids rampaged a street in the area. In addition to parked cars and passing vehicles, an elderly man and young teenager were attacked during the rampage.
With regards to the attacks, Mayor A.C. Wharton is focused on stopping the violence in his city. He has also called on the attention of the parents of the teenagers involved to exercise their responsibility.
"We're not going to accept this, 'Well, they didn't have anything to do so they went out and formed a mob.' That dog will not hunt in Memphis, Tennessee," stated Mayor A.C. Wharton with regards to the Memphis mob knockout attacks.
