Anthony Schlegel has just pounced on a crazed fan who ran into the field during the Saturday night game between Ohio State and Cincinnati. It looks like Anthony Schlegel could not get the Ohio State linebacker out of him. It looks like he can still suit up.
Anthony Schlegel is now an assistant strength coach for the Buckeyes, but with the epic body slam that he just performed, he can still pass off as the team's amazingly skilled linebacker. Although what he delivered was not a prototypical form tackle, it was still a good emphatic slam that the runaway culprit will most certainly feel for the next couple of days.
This is just proof that those who would like to act like idiots, even just for a few minutes, should think twice, or thrice, before pushing through with the idiotic plans, especially if Schlegel is somewhere on the field. Otherwise, there will be a lot of body pain on the field, off the field, and even in the days to come.
As soon as the fan was escorted off the field, the former Ohio State coach, Earle Bruce, mentioned in a press box that Anthony Schlegel was "the best tackler we've ever had." Anthony Schlegel concluded his football career back in 2005 and has now moved on to being an assistant strength coach.
Anthony Schlegel is currently in his third season on the team's strength staff. Back in 2004 and 2005, he used to play for the Buckeyes, after he decided to transfer from the Air Force. In these two seasons, Anthony Schlegel was able to record a whopping total of 166 tackles as he played alongside Booby Carpenter and AJ Hawk before he was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.
