Slender Man Victim’s Mother Opens Up About How Daughter Was Curious About Fictional Horror Character Before The Attack Happened

Slender Man stabbing victim last May apparently talked to her mother about the specter before the attack happened. The 12-year-old Payton Leutner was stabbed by her classmates a total of 19 times, as they tried to appease a fictional horror character that they only referred to was the Slender Man.

The Slender Man victim was reportedly attacked in a heavily wooded park after she and her friends had a sleepover in celebration of the victim's best friend's birthday. The local police stated that a girl, along with another 12-year-old classmate, namely Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser, both from Waukesha, Wisconsin, had actually planned the attack for months as they wanted to get on the good side of the Slender Man.

Stacie Leutner, the mother of the Slender Man stabbing victim, informed ABC's "20/20" show that her daughter actually asked her about the Slender Man before the attack occurred. According to her statement, her daughter kept asking her about the infamous Slender Man because she was starting to get scared of the stories that her friends were telling her. Payton even told her mother that her best friend believed that the Slender Man was real.

Mrs. Leutner did not pay much heed to the stories that her daughter was telling her since she thought that the Slender Man was just a fantasy story that Payton's best friend would soon outgrow.

The Slender Man is a fictional horror character that was born from a very dark corner of the Internet. According to the investigation, the Slender Man kidnaps children and kills them. The girls who were responsible for the stabbing believed that he truly existed and they were 100% convinced that the only way they could win his favor was if they killed someone. Unfortunately for Payton Leutner, they decided it would be her.
