Former 'American Idol' Judge Randy Jackson, Wife Divorcing After 19 Years Of Marriage Over 'Irreconcilable Differences'

Randy Jackson, an ex 'American Idol' judge, is set to divorce his wife of 19 years, Erika Jackson, Washington Post has learned.

According to court documents obtained by insiders, Randy Jackson's wife has already filed for divorce in Los Angeles this Friday, and she has cited irreconcilable differences as grounds for their legitimate split.

Additionally, Erika listed their separation date as Sept. 11 in her filing and made it clear that she wants physical custody of their two kids, Zoe and Jordan, and spousal support as well. The couple's youngest child as of writing is already 17 years old.

The former 'Idol' judge's divorce comes almost 19 years after Randy Jackson and Erika Riker tied the knot in December 1995.

Erika has also specified that upon divorcing the ex 'Idol' judge, Randy Jackson, she wants her name to be restored to its maiden form, Erika Riker, according to CBS News.

The 58-year-old record producer has served as an 'American Idol' judge for 12 seasons and helped in launching the successful careers of several hit makers today including Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and Katharine McPhee, among others.

His last appearance on the famous singing competition that is still being hosted by Ryan Seacrest was during its 13th run but he didn't do judge duties that time. Instead, he joined the show as mentor to the contestants.

He is one of the original judges of the show, alongside music executive and manager Simon Cowell and pop singer-choreographer Paula Abdul.

Apart from being a former television music competition judge and record producer, Jackson is also well-known for being a bassist.

Randy Jackson and Erika Riker's divorce was first reported and confirmed by popular entertainment and gossip site TMZ.

Both Randy and the soon-to-be ex Mrs. Jackson are is yet to comment on the issue as of late.
