Walmart shooting video Ohio shows John Crawford III being shot and killed by two cops who responded to the scene. Prior to the release of the Walmart shooting video Ohio, a 911 call was released wherein the caller named Ronald Ritchie stated Crawford was walking around the store holding a gun and pointing it at people. The said gun was merely a toy pellet gun Crawford had picked up from one of the stores' shelves.
John Crawford III in the Walmart shooting video Ohio appears to be calmly talking on his phone. He mindlessly picked up a pellet gun out of its package on one of the stores' shelves. According to Crawford's family, he was speaking to his wife at the time of the shooting. Contrary to the 911 call where Ritchie claimed Crawford was pointing the gun at people, the Walmart shooting video Ohio shows Crawford fiddling the gun but with its barrel pointed at the ground.
The grand jury had watched the Walmart shooting video Ohio and decided the actions of the two police officers who had arrived at the scene were justified. Crawford's family however has released a statement claiming that the shooting was not reasonable nor was it justified.
"The Wal-Mart surveillance video and eyewitnesses prove that the killing of John H. Crawford III was not justified and was not reasonable. It is undisputed that John Crawford III was in Wal-Mart as a customer and was not posing a threat to anyone in the store, especially the police officers," stated the family of Crawford III.
The Washington Post reports that the family of John Crawford III has forwarded the case to federal officials. This is to determine if race played a vital role in the case given John Crawford III was black and that the officers who had shot him were white. The Walmart shooting video Ohio may be viewed below.
