Accord signed by Seychelles Tourism Academy opens up training opportunities for tourism officials

The Seychelles Tourism Academy went an extra mile to seize regional training opportunities not only for its staff but that of the Seychelles Tourism Board by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The MOU, which was signed last year, with three hotel and tourism academies of Reunion, namely Lycée Hotelier la Renaissance, Lycée Evariste de Parny, and Lycée Centhor Reunion, came about with the help of French Ambassador Philippe Delacroix.

The Seychelles Tourism Academy has announced that the first two staff of the Tourism Board to benefit from this agreement is Sylvianne Nicette and Line Mancienne.

Both Ms. Nicette and Ms. Mancienne will be leaving the country tomorrow for two weeks' training in the field of tourism on Reunion island at the Lycée Evariste de Parny, with accommodation provided to them by the Lycée Hotelier La Renaissance.

They will be joined by two staff of the Seychelles Tourism Academy - Gemine Raguin and Juliette Esparon - who will also be on Reunion island for further training. They will be based at the Lycée Centhor, where they will undergo two months' training in Sommelier and Advanced Food and Beverage Service.

The Principal of the Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, has said that the academy is pleased to provide both its staff and staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board with this training opportunity.

"The Seychelles Tourism Academy believes in the importance of staff development, and that is why the academy ensures that staff is provided with training opportunities and wanted staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board to also benefit from these opportunities," said Mr. Joubert.

The Deputy of the Seychelles of Tourism Board, Elsia Grandcourt, on her part has thanked the Seychelles Tourism Academy for extending this opportunity to staff of the tourism board.

"I believe that staff of both the academy and the tourism board will use this training opportunity to the maximum to beef up their skills and knowledge," said Mrs. Grandcourt.
