Louisiana State Police Investigates Shooting Of 14-Year-Old Boy; Victim Shot By Terrebonne Parish Deputy

Louisiana state police stated on Tuesday that a black teenager was gunned down during an altercation with a black police officer. According to the reports, the police officer was involved in the investigation of armed males who were repeatedly entering an abandoned house in a small town near New Orleans.

According to the spokesperson of the Louisiana state police, Evan Harrell, this altercation between the Terrebonne Parish deputy and the alleged intruders occurred inside a home that was located in a heavily residential area of Houma, which is only 57 miles to the southwestern portion of New Orleans. The incident reportedly happened at around 6 p.m.

Harrell mentioned that a weapon was discovered to be "in close proximity" to the body of the 14-year-old boy. Plus, Harrell also stated that a fifth person is presently being sought by the local police after escaping from the scene.

It was the deputy who entered the house first, Harrell stated. He did not provide further details about how the shooting started or how many times the male victim had been shot. He only mentioned that the investigation is still underway.

The teenager who was killed by the Louisiana state police has already been identified to be Cameron Tillman. It was his family members who identified him, according to the report made by WWL-TV, a local CBS affiliate.

According to Harrell, the 14-year-old boy was shot by a police officer. Moreover, the deputies were quick to respond to a series of 911 emergency calls that reported of a certain number of armed individuals who entered the abandoned house.

The shooting was looked into by the Louisiana state police at the request of the Terrebonne Paris Sheriff's Office, according to Harrell.

Additionally, two juveniles and an 18-year-old individual were arrested. However, the police did not provide any information regarding their identities. These three criminals are going to be facing some criminal trespassing charges.
