Chris Martin's net worth has always been concealed from the public amid all of the issues the Coldplay frontman is faced with recently. After an amicable split from 'Iron Man' actress Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin is said to be dating 'Hunger Games' star Jennifer Lawrence. Insiders claim that in the British born musician's net worth actually plays a big part in his relationships, both past and present.
According to E! News, Chris Martin is the bigger earner throughout his marital relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow. And the same can be expected in his current relationship with Lawrence.
In a 2011 interview at The Howard Stern Show, Chris Martin was asked about his net worth, and though he did not give the exact figure, he proudly shared that he has the largest earnings among his band since they split everything "20-20-20-40" with the largest portion going to him as their lead singer-songwriter.
"I never told anyone, but you asked nicely," he candidly told Stern at the time.
Chris Martin's net worth is currently estimated to be somewhere near the $90 million mark. If this were true, his wealth is certainly bigger than Paltrow's, which is approximately $60 million, and even Lawrence's, which is said to be near $40 million.
"Chris Martin is clearly the bigger earner in the relationship," Dorothy Pomerantz of Forbes said of Martin's net worth compared to his soon-to-be ex-wife's earnings.
Interestingly, Martin, Paltrow and Lawrence have become part of Forbes' list of 100 highest paid celebrities.
"With musicians like Coldplay it depends on touring, which is where they make the big money," Pomerantz quipped. "So every year these guys go out on tour, they will sell out giant arenas and will make tons of money. It doesn't really come from the album sales, it comes from the touring."
Should Martin get divorced from Paltrow after 10 years of marriage and officially engage into a committed relationship with Lawrence, the Coldplay singer would still be just fine, financially speaking.
"I think Gwyneth Paltrow is doing really well right now and Chris Martin is on fire, so they are both going strong in their own spheres and they will probably continue to," Pomerantz opined.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chris Martin's net worth is mostly thanks to his band's five studio albums and several EP's, such as "A Rush of Blood to the Head," "Mylo Xyloto" and "Live 2012."
