Putting tennis in the rear view after finishing as U.S. Open runner-up, the beautiful athlete who recently broke up with Rory Mcllroy forgot to bring her $1.45 million check to New York, where she could be with her celebrity friends and possibly get some beatification tips from Anna Wintour.
Wozniacki, who formerly was world's No. 1, made an impressive comeback by giving it her all and making it through the finals though she lost to her friend Serena Williams.
This is of course a special moment for the 24-year-old professional tennis player, whose last appearance in the finals was during her first Grand Slam in 2009.
After finishing second this time, the U.S. Open has given Caroline Wozniacki $1.45 million dollars. But get this, she forgot to pick up her check and only realized it as she was on her way to return to Manhattan.
Several sources report that Caroline Wozniacki totally forgot about her check after the game. Fortunately, it didn't take her too long to realize that her big sum of money isn't with her.
Hence, just thirty minutes after leaving the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, insiders saw her car dashing to go back to Queens and pick up her winnings before she finally left for New York Fashion Week.
Meanwhile, Monica Langley of Wall Street Journal opines that Wozniacki is mostly indifferent to the money she gets from her games and whatnot.
Langley even proved her claim by revealing the Rory Mcllroy's ex didn't ask about the $500,000 incentive bonus from sponsors that was supposed to be triggered by her commendable play.
