Loretta Phillips Stamos, John Stamos' Mother, Dies At 75, Surrounded By Her Children, Grandchildren

John Stamos' 75-year-old mother Loretta Phillips Stamos has died, and the "Full House" alum was the one who broke the sad news to his fans via Instagram.

According to People, John Stamos' mom died on Tuesday, and the actor himself quickly announced the sad news in a poignant and meaningful Instagram post that same day.

"The love of my life passed away yesterday in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren," the 51-year-old television and film actor wrote as caption to a childhood photo of him and his mother.

"My mother had enough love to fuel a small country. She was truly one of a kind and will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her," he added.

John Stamos continued his emotional message in the wake of his dead mother, saying, "A few weeks ago, I asked my mom if she remembered an inconsequential event - she simply replied, 'I only remember the love.' #Brokenhearted #Iloveyouthemost"

Many fans of the actor quickly echoed their condolences to his family.

"This is so horrible, I'm more than sorry for your loss! My condolences and thoughts <3 May she rip and may she be happy and healthy where she is right now, watching over her family,friends and loved ones. And you have now the best guardian angel ever possible <3 Much love xx" one fan commented on Stamos' post.

"I'm truly sorry for your loss. You never get used to loosing a parent, but u will develop a new normal. May all the loving memories of your mom be a comfort go u now. Peace and prayers," another wrote.

John Stamos' mother is actually the founder of The Vanguard Cancer Foundation; hence, the actor took the opportunity to request those wishing to reach out to him and his family to support the said foundation.

The Vanguard Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization that advocates for a more personalized and intelligent cancer care for cancer patients.

"Thirteen years ago, I held my brother's hand as a doctor told him that his cancer was untreatable," the late mother of John Stamos wrote as part of her Founder's Message.

"As I think back to that moment, I realize just how many people would have accepted that diagnosis and given up. Thankfully, Jake knew better ... the Vanguard Cancer Foundation will be here, empowering patients to take the fight against cancer into their own hands," Loretta's message continued.

Prior to her death, photos of John Stamos' mother appeared on the actor's Instagram account. One of the photos, which the "E.R" alum posted on Aug. 29, shows Loretta Phillips and John attending a special occasion, reported Page Six.
