Pizza Hut Oregon Police: Officers Deliver Pizza To Surprised Couple, Photo Goes Viral, Why Did They Deliver The Pizza?

Pizza Hut Oregon police incident occurred this week as two police officers completed the job of a pizza delivery man. When they knocked on the door to deliver the pie, the couple who they delivered the pizza to were of course, frightened and surprised - at first. They had no idea of the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident and that the officers were just going above and beyond their promise to protect and serve the general public.

According to multiple reports, the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident happened as a pizza delivery driver became injured in a car accident in Portland, Oregon. Two police officers who responded to the scene of the crash instead completed his delivery for him.

The man from the couple in the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident was identified as Steve Huckins. According to the Examiner, Huckins and his wife became apprehensive when they saw two cups pulling up in front of their home. Eventually, their distress quickly turned to laughter as the officers handed them their order for pizza, reported Fox News on Sept. 23.

According to the Daily Mail, the two officers got into the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident as they had been called to the scene of an accident which involved a pizza delivery driver. The driver said was in the middle of a Pizza Hut pizza delivery when the crash occurred, reports the Examiner.

The New York Daily News reported that the driver hurt his neck, therefore he could not finish his final delivery for the night.

The officers attended to the accident first, and afterwards kindly offered to deliver the pizzas for the driver.

The two officers in the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident were identified as Officers Michael Filbert and Royce Curtiss.

According to the Associated Press, the Huckins couple are publicly thanking the officers for going out of their way and bringing the couple's dinner to them since their delivery driver was out of duty during that time.

Apparently, before the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident ended and the cops were turning around to leave, Huckins said he yelled "whoa, whoa, whoa-I've got to get a picture of this. No one is going to believe Portland, Oregon police delivering a pizza." The cops-did not hesitate to submit to the whims of the happy customers.

The photograph of the two officers was posted on Reddit, and has since gone viral. It has been captioned "Community policing at its finest!"

Meanwhile, the manager of the delivery man at the Pizza Hut branch reportedly confirmed the story, and that the couple even got another pizza after the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident.

Redditor "TheMehtevas" reportedly wrote, "The officer said they would finish the delivery but we didn't think it was true. So I remade and delivered the pizza myself and this looks like the house I took it to!"

"But they were only charged for one pizza. Considering the circumstance I was more worried about my driver then 1 free pizza. Btw, he is fine!" he added.

Dropping off a pizza may not have been risky or medal-worthy, but the Pizza Hut Oregon police incident certainly shows initiative on the part of the cops. It's also a good representation of what cops should embody.
