UPS shooting Birmingham has left three people dead in its wake, including the gunman. According to the Birmingham local police, the gunman fired shots at a UPS facility in Inglenook before 9:30 a.m.
The police immediately got multiple calls about an active shooting incident at 4601 Inglenook Lane, at the UPS customer service center and warehouse. AC Roper, the Police Chief of Birmingham, said, "Patrol units responded quickly. They rallied and made entry. They were able to clear the building, and, of course, during the shooting, multiple employees exited the facility."
As soon as the local police arrived on the scene and got inside the building, they immediately spotted three bodies inside the office. The Chief stated, "It appears it was the shooter still wearing his UPS uniform and two other employees."
The gunman responsible for the recent UPS shooting Birmingham is believed to be a 45-year-old white male who lived in the Argo area. According to the ensuing investigation, the shooter was married and a father. When they recovered the gunman's body, the gun that he used was still underneath his body.
The local police has only just confirmed that the shooter was actually recently fired from his job. The spokesperson of the local police, Lt. Sean Edwards, said, "He received his final papers Monday. Today, he was not expected to return to work because he was no longer employed there."
All of the three who were found dead on the spot were adult white males and their names have not been provided to the press. The two victims were apparently on-duty supervisors at UPS. And, according to the investigation, they were the prime targets of the UPS shooting Birmingham.
Moreover, it is believed that the gunman behind the UPS shooting Birmingham was the shooter himself. Roper confirmed that none of the employees who remained inside the building were injured. Roper also said that the police did not fire any shots, nor did they hear any shots when they got to the area. He said, "When the officers arrived in the parking lot and made entry, the incident, in all respect, was already over."
