Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams seemed to have stolen the show in the latest season premiere of top talent show "The Voice." It was the first night on duty for these two top musicians, and the show's fans are happy with the fresh, new attitude that their tandem brought to the show.
The swiveling chairs of "The Voice" judges are at it again, as the newest season of NBC's singing competition makes a comeback. Newbies Gwen Stefani and Pharrell were joined by the show's mainstay judges, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The four of them were seated on the show's iconic red chairs, as the world anticipates the show's blind auditions, battle rounds, steals, and very shocking eliminations. Plus, this latest "The Voice" season also has a new set of guest mentors for the new contestants.
Since "The Voice" began, it had had a continuously changing panel of judges. When the show first aired on NBC, the music-makers seated on the show's iconic red chairs were Levine, Shelton, and CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera. However, when the latter two did not return to the show's fourth season, their seats were filled in by Usher and Shakira.
Aguilera and Green, however, returned for the fifth season, but Green made an official announcement that it would be his last season. In turn, Shakira and Usher returned to their designated seats for the sixth season.
Carson Daly is also the show's mainstay host and has been hosting it since "The Voice" premiered years ago.
Over the years, as soon as the novelty of finding the next phenomenal singer on TV started to wear off, the spotlight eventually turned to the show's panel of judges. Now, many of today's stars, musicians, especially, have come to realize that appearing on "The Voice" as a judge is a very effective career boost.
This is especially true for Gwen Stefani, the singer of No Doubt, and Pharrell, which is quite evidenced in the show's 7th season premiere, not that they needed a career boost as much as other musicians today do. They both proceeded by stealing the show's two-hour premiere.
This latest season of "The Voice," with Gwen Stefani and Pharrell airs every Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
