Convicted killer caught Texas approximately eight hours after his escape from a prison in Amarillo. According to the local authorities, the 34-year-old Marvin Garcia, originally from El Salvador, was caught on Monday morning after the police spotted someone jumping from a freight train that was about to slow down.

The police were actually only within the area as they were trying to look for a plane that the prison escapee may have used for fleeing the state. However, they were surprised, much to their delight, when they spotted the convicted killer caught Texas jumping off from a freight train that was nearing to a stop.

Local law enforcement agencies, as well as state troopers, worked together on the northern part of Amarillo, near the Canadian River and US Highway 287, and took the convicted killer caught Texas into custody.

As stated by the spokesperson of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Jason Clark, Garcia did not resist at all when the local authorities caught him.

Garcia actually escaped from the prison at around 3:40 a.m. on Monday by scaling a fence. As stated in earlier reports, a corrections officer assigned at the Neal Unit saw Garcia trying to escape and even fired a few shots in the direction of the convicted killer caught Texas. However, he was very skilled with what he was doing and was able to flee. It initially remained uncertain if he was hit by any of the bullets that were fired. However, it was confirmed later that he was not. Clark stated, "It does not appear he had been shot. He did have some cuts."

The convicted killer caught Texas was imprisoned back in 2010 for a murder conviction and had been given a 25-year prison sentence in Harris County.

Now that the convicted killer caught Texas has been apprehended, he will be taken to court for arraignment on felony charges and then will be returned to his prison cell.
