Afghan soldiers go missing who were all at Cape Cod as participants for the U.S. Central Command Regional Cooperation training exercise.
Authorities coming from the local and the state are still trying to locate the whereabouts of the three men who all came from the Afghanistan military group. According to the report from the Associated Press, the men taking the training exercises in the U.S. territory arrived last Sept. 11 and were last seen during their day off at the mall in Hyannis.
The Afghan soldiers who go missing in the midst of their military training exercises in Joint Base Cape Cod were identified as Maj. Jan Mohammad Arash, 48, Capt. Mohammad Nasir Askarzada, 18, and Capt. Noorullah Aminyar, 20. The three of them were reported to be out of sight by security personnel in the area on Saturday night. It was also said that the day of the men's disappearance was actually the time for all the participants to explore more of the area where the training is being held.
It is the first time that the military training exercise has been held in the part of the USA since the event usually takes place in the parts of South Asia. Amid all the sudden disappearance of the three Afghan soldiers, it is inevitable that other people tend to question its implication. Although the Pentagon has already announced that the men from Cape Cod who all gone missing does not impose any threat to the state, but the possible amount of worry can never be taken away since it was already previously said that there are other nationals who are already joining the force of terrorist groups such as the ISIS.
Local authorities from Cape Cod as well as that of the state are still on the process of locating and determining the possible locations of the Afghan soldiers who go missing. The soldiers are just three of those more than 200 participants who joined the exercise which aims to practice peacekeeping and promote cooperation.
