iPhone 6 delay black market becomes rampant in China. Since the iPhone 6 remains unavailable in China for the time being, a black market has started to cater to the needs of those who want to get their hands on it as soon as possible. The black market in China is now making quick profits in selling iPhone 6 units to eager buyers, according to a report from Bloomberg on Friday.
Sales of the highly anticipated iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 has already kicked off in Japan, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Singapore, and France. However, China was notably not included in this list. Perhaps the units are still waiting for a full complement with regards to the nation's regulatory approvals.
The iPhone 6 delay black market is caused by the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's move to approve Apple's new model for network access. This delay, not so surprisingly, is not only hurting Apple, which has actually sold a record number of iPhone 5S units in China during the fourth quarter of last year. Because of this delay, the infamous black market in China, according to Bloomberg, has also been revved up.
Black market sellers in China were able to sell the latest model of the famous 16GB iPhone for 8,000 Yuan or $1,303, which is nearly twice as much as the Hong Kong price of the unit. Additionally, there are also iPhone 6 delay black market sellers who got to sell the unite at around $2,441, which is a massive mark up from the model's price in Hong Kong, which is only around $927.
As reported by Bloomberg, one of the iPhone 6 delay black market vendors said, "It's going to be a while before the new iPhone comes to China officially. So, If you want it now, you have to pay up."
