It's National Cheeseburger Day and Sonic is noncompliant to this wonderful celebration that honors the creation of the amazing bundle of flavors and joy. Nevertheless, there is no time to spare in sulking over Sonic's decision as other establishments have already confirmed that they are giving away free burgers and some even give big discounts for their flavorful and cheesy cheeseburgers.
According to The Epoch Times, the National Cheeseburger Day is being celebrated on the 18th of September every year, and in line with this, many establishments have agreed to give everyone the perfect meal to join the tasty celebration.
So what's the story behind the cheeseburger and the celebration?
Party planning service called Punchbowl says, "One story claims that the cheeseburger was created between 1924 and 1926 by a chef named Lionel Sternberger."
"As the story goes, a homeless man dining at Sternberger's restaurant in Pasadena, Calif., suggested the addition of a slice of cheese to his hamburger order. Sternberger complied, eventually added it to his menu, and the rest is history."
Whether it's true or not that a homeless man is the one to be credited for this flavorful discovery, one thing is for sure, the oeey goeey cheese is definitely a must-have when one orders a juicy burger. So this National Cheeseburger Day, everyone's entitled to grab a bite of the savory burger be it an All-American cheeseburger, a mac and cheese burger, crispy cheese burger sliders or a corned beef cheeseburger.
