The USS Saratoga wreck didn't start off as just another diving spot for scuba divers. Before it became one of the best diving attractions, the USS Saratoga wreck was one of the first aircraft carriers by the Navy. It was originally built as a battle cruiser but to comply with the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 it was converted into a carrier. While the USS Saratoga served for a number of years, it sunk due to a nuclear weapon test done in the 1946.
Now, the USS Saratoga wreck is one of Bikini Atoll's best diving spots. A seven night stay is sure enough to explore all the areas of the USS Saratoga wreck. Those who have dived in the Bikini Atoll wreck have claimed it's the best expedition as the wreck in Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu called the SS President Coolidge. The wreck of the USS Saratoga is divided into two areas of expedition. First is the bridge area around 12 metres and the flight deck around 27 metres.
Latest updates on the wreck state that the deck could collapse. However, the bridge area is still good for expedition. There are planes still up and ready to go in the deck while some aircrafts have already landed in the seabed area. Aside from the wreckage, divers are warned beforehand about sharks swimming in and around the area, which is why yellow fins are warned to be worn.
