Held in Atlantic City, the Miss America competition brought 51 girls to the stage. Only 10 made it to the final round and only one was crowned as Miss America 2015. Here are the Miss America Winners for the Miss America competition 2015.
Miss New York Kira Kazantsev was crowned Miss America. The 23-year old not only won the top prize for the night but she also walked home with a scholarship worth $50,000. This is the third time that the Miss America Winners came from New York.
Notable from the Miss America Winners was Miss Idaho, part of the 15 contestants who had made it to the bikini round. The 18-year old might have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes but that didn't stop her from wowing the crowd with her toned and fit body. Unfortunately, Miss Idaho Sierra Sandison didn't make it to the top ten.
Also noteworthy from the Miss America Winners is Miss New York Kira Kazantsev who performed Pharell William's single, "Happy" for the talent portion.
As for the Miss America Winners that made it to the top ten include Miss Mississippi Jasmine Murray, Miss Arkansas Ashton Jo Campbell, Miss Oklahoma Alex Eppler, Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn, Miss Ohio Mackenzie Bart, Miss Florida Victoria Cowen, Miss Tennessee Haley Lewis, Miss Virginia Courtney Paige Garrett, Miss Alabama Caitlin Brunell and Miss New York Kira Kazantsev.
The Miss America Winners who made it to the runner's up are Miss Massachusetts as fourth runner up, Miss Florida as third runner up, Miss Arkansas as second runner up and Miss Virginia as runner up.
In addition to Miss New York who took home a $50,000 scholarship, Miss New Mexico, Miss Ohio, Miss Georgia, Miss Massachusetts and Miss Vermont took home a $5,000 scholarship.
Other Miss America Winners of the night include Miss Alabama for the Quality of Life Award, Miss Idaho for America's Choice award and Miss North Dakota for Miss Congeniality award.
