Weekend Box Office Forbes: 'No Good Deeds' Starring Idris Elba Scores Big

With the weekend having just begun, Forbes has already named the film to rack in the biggest dough. The Weekend Box Office Forbes hit is none other than Sony's "No Good Deeds." Starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, "No Good Deeds" did well with $24.5 million on its first weekend.

The Weekend Box Office Forbes hit, "No Good Deeds" almost pulled the plug when it pulled out press screenings for the movie at the last minute. Sony claimed this was a simple move to keep plot twists secret. Other speculations as to why the press screen was pulled out was due to the alleged overlap of Elba's character stalking and beating Henson with the recent reports on domestic violence involving Ray Rice.

Nonetheless, it was a good move for the film starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson given it earned a whopping $8.8 million on Friday alone. During the weekend, the weekend box office Forbes film managed to rack in $24.5 million. The amount is double the cost made to produce the film, which was on a $13.5 million budget.

Despite the film being a weekend box office Forbes hit, critics were not too kind. "No Good Deeds" has a theme resembling that of domestic violence reports that have made it to the news as of late. Still, even with the critics claiming it's a film not to be taken seriously, the weekend box office Forbes hit continues to be supported by audiences of Sony.

The weekend box office Forbes film was produced by Will Packer. Other films Packer had worked on include "Think Like a Man" and "Ride Along." Will Packer is set to produce another film set for the year 2015 entitled "The Wedding Ringer."

Other films included in the weekend box office by Forbes are "Dolphin Tale 2" and "Guardians of the Galaxy."
