World's Tallest Dog 2014: Great Dane From Michigan Dies At Age Five

Considered the world's tallest dog 2014 is a Great Dane from Michigan named Zeus. However, the world's tallest dog 2014 is no longer alive as Zeus had passed away at the age of 5 last week due to old age.

Kevin Doorlag, Zeus' owner, had revealed the news to the Kalamazoo Gazette. Zeus would have turned six years old by November. The world's tallest dog 2014 lived in Otsego, Michigan and was given the Guinness World record in 2012.

The world's tallest dog 2014 measures 111.8 cm from his foot to his withers. Zeus's' size is the same size of the average donkey. If Zeus stands on his hind legs, the measurement of the world's tallest dog 2014 measures at 7 feet and 4 inches.

According to his owners, Zeus consumes around twelve cups of food in a day which is the equivalent of 30 pounds of food. The Great Dane 2014 weighed 75 kilograms.

Zeus's' family isn't the only one who would miss him because apart from being a Guinness World record holder, Zeus was quite popular in the Kalamazoo area. The world's tallest dog 2014 frequently made visits to hospitals and local schools as his form of being a therapy dog. Despite his great height, Zeus was one of the gentlest dogs that brought joy to those he visited.

Despite the death of Zeus the Great Dane from Michigan, there is another Guinness World record holder in Melbourne, Ontario. Morgan, a female Great Dane, has been entered as the world's tallest dog of the Guinness World Record 2014 edition. Owned by Cathy and David Payne, Morgan weighs 214 pounds and stands at a height of 98 centimetres.

Another world record holder for being the tallest dog include a Great Dane in Arizona named Bella. Bella's height was 94 centimetres.
