Mark Ruffalo is already presently famous because of his performance as the Incredible Hulk of Marvel Studios. However, just because he is already as internationally popular as he is at the moment, this does not necessarily mean that he is no longer interested in expanding his horizons, especially if it involves a galaxy far, far away.
Mark Ruffalo admitted during an interview that he actually wrote to his "Brothers Bloom" director Rian Johnson about getting an acting part in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VIII" for 2017. He told Collider, "I just reached out to Rian recently, by the way. My email to Rian after all these years was, 'Rian, congratulations on everything you've been doing. And, by the way, if there's a part in 'Star Wars,' please, anything, please consider considering me to join you. I love hanging out with Rian so just hanging out on set is interesting to me, but I would like a role."
The fact that Mark Ruffalo admitted that he asked Johnson for a role in the upcoming blockbuster is not a huge surprise. What is surprising is that not many stars have actually tried making such public pleas to land a huge role in today's biggest movies. In fact, when it comes to huge Marvel blockbusters, the world bore witness to how Terry Crews, Al Pacino, and Jessica Chastain expressed their interest for a role publicly.
To date, 'Star Wars' has been pretty mum about its front. Perhaps this is because of the highly secretive process that JJ Abrams wants for his upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' This intergalactic blockbuster has already been scheduled for a 2015 public release and it involved nine months' worth of meetings and screen testings before the names of the actors chosen for the movie were announced to the public.
