Lake Tahoe earthquake today rattled near Tahoe Vista, Calif. and fortunately, it wasn't strong to have produced injuries to residents of the area. According to multiple reports the, the Lake Tahoe earthquake today was of a magnitude 3.5.
According to, the Los Angeles Times, the Lake Tahoe earthquake today was reported on Wednesday afternoon, only two miles from Tahoe Vista, Calif. However, other reports say the low temblor struck the west of Tahoe Vista on Wednesday evening.
The U.S. Geological Survey said that the shallow magnitude-3.5 Lake Tahoe earthquake today hit just west of Tahoe Vista.
According to CBS 13, quake had a depth of about 3.7 to 4 miles. Reported to have occurred on the northwest side of Lake Tahoe and southeast of Truckee, the Lake Tahoe earthquake today was reported at exactly 5:08 p.m. Pacific time on Wednesday.
The USGS also confirmed the time of the earthquake at around 5:08 p.m., its depth of about four miles and location being northwest side of Lake Tahoe and southeast of Truckee.
The LA Times reports that according to the USGS, the epicenter of the Lake Tahoe earthquake today was seven miles from Truckee, Calif. That location is exactly 18 miles from Carson City, Nev. and also 21 miles from South Lake Tahoe and 25 miles from Reno.
The last 10 days have produced no earthquakes of a magnitude 3.0 or even greater that is centered nearby, the LA Times reports.
According to UPI, there are no reported damage or injuries that resulted from the Lake Tahoe earthquake today.

The most recent earthquake in California this month occurred on Sep. 2 in San Jacinto. The San Jacinto earthquake had a magnitude 3.7 and was centered one mile from San Jacinto, just three miles from Hemet, reports The Desert Sun. It reportedly hit at a depth of 8.3 miles, one mile north-northwest of San Jacinto, reports the USGS.
Lake Tahoe earthquake today may have rattled the area, but thankfully no damages were reported. The San Jacinto earthquake also produced no damages or fatalities.
