How to Survive Your Next Road Trip

Road trips are usually a favorite among the much budgeted family. Buying five plane tickets to a destination in the next state over roundtrip is typically more expensive than just all packing in the minivan or SUV for a good old family eight hour road trip. Here are some tips for the next time you and your friends or family decides to road trip to your next destination.

A good tip for entertainment would be to plan very far in advance how you and your road trip pals are planning to pass the time. Buying an audio book is a very popular way to enjoy the car ride. Another fun thing for all the passengers to participate in would be to make an hour long playlist of their favorite music for everyone to listen to.

One of the trickiest parts of road trips is planning for food. Sure with modern day it is so easy to just stop and get fast food for every meal, but then your passengers aren't going to feel so great after so much greasy food. Fast food can also add up very easily. A good tip here would be to pack a cooler with snacks for the day that each person likes. And stopping by a grocery store along the way isn't a bad idea either.

It is not fair to make one person drive the entire time. Unless the person feels comfortable driving the whole distance, it is best to take turns. This is good so everyone gets a chance to see the scenery in which you are driving through.

Taking a different route than which you came from is also a great idea to help ease the boredom. Seeing the same landmarks you saw before can be kind of tedious. Feel free to embrace the scenic route.

Another tip to have in mind would be to never pack in too long of a day of driving; if your destination is ten plus hours away it would be wise breaking the trip into two or more days of driving. This way everyone is not dying of being in the same spot all day.

Hopefully these tips make for a more stress free and enjoyable road trip.
