Fans of the original "Now You See Me" movie will be surprised to know that the sequel gets a 2016 release date for its sequel.
According to Comic Book, Lionsgate made the big reveal that it will have an exact release date of June 10, 2016.
It may be a bit too late than what was stated in the original plan but it looks forward to be as successful as the first movie.
The 2013 film earned about $350 million at the worldwide box office charts even if it only worked at a considerable amount of budget. The second film is reported to have on board the same cast which is made up of Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.
Louis Letterier won't be back on his directorial chair and will be replaced by Jon M. Chu, reports Den of Geek. Chu is the director behind films like "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" and "G.I. Joe Retaliation."
Dave Franco shared with Cinema Blend how the release of a "Now You See Me 2" sequel will open a wide range of new opportunities for them to explore. It could be that the second movie will reveal more of the illusionists' lives when they are not on-stage.
On the other hand, Eisenberg seems to have a productive 2016 ahead of him. Apart from reprising his role in the "Now You See Me 2" sequel, he is also set to star as the popular villain Lex Luthor in the highly anticipated "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" superhero film.
The "Now You See Me 2" movie will go head to head with other movies with a June 2015 release date like the "Unchartered," "Finding Dory," and "The Mummy" reboot.
