Marriage shouldn't be an issue between two people in love. However, if it involves two elderly people, the court has something to say. A couple in particular in Virginia has caught quite the attention due to their recent marriage.
Newlyweds, Eddie Harrison aged 95 and Edith Hill aged 96 are facing a number of problems with regards to their recent marriage. While Edith's daughter doesn't have an issue with the wedding that took place, the court does.
Eddie and Edith have been together for almost a decade. While their love story is the typical Hollywood meet and greet, the couple only decided to tie the knot early this year. Of course, a 95-year old church elder had presided over their wedding,
While the Hill's granddaughter and daughter, Robin and Rebecca Wright respectively, have no issues with the marriage, the court claims the marriage holds legal problems. Edith Hill is said to be legally incapacitated. Early this month at a hearing, the presiding judge claimed Wright had acted improperly and had allowed her mother to wed without permission from the court.
Patricia Barber was one of the family member who had openly opposed the marriage between Hill and Harrison. Through her representative Cary Cuccinelli, Cuccinelli stated the members of the family were not informed of the wedding thus complicating matters with regards to distributing Edith Hill's estate.
Hill owns a property in Old Town Alexandria, which according to assessments is worth $475,000. With the marriage having occurred, Harrison now has the right to Hill's estate. For now, James Clark, the judge, has removed Barber and Wright as Hill's legal guardians. The marriage is currently under investigation under Clark's appointed lawyer, Jessica Niesen.
As for Eddie Harrison and Edith Hill, the couple is currently in Annandale living together along with Robin and Rebecca Wright.
