Jennifer Aniston has gone completely make-up-less in her latest movie, "Cake." Anyone who is going to watch the movie can surely observe that there is absolutely no stitch of make-up on her amazingly beautiful face. Still, Jennifer Aniston manages to look gorgeous, being the natural beauty that she is.
Jennifer Aniston's role in "Cake" is a woman, named Claire, who suffers from chronic pain. Given that she is going to portray the role of an extremely sick woman, putting on layers of mascara and bronzer is pretty much out of the picture.
Jennifer Aniston's "Cake" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday. After seeing the film, movie critics have been lauding Jennifer Aniston for her role, not because she had no make-up on for the entire duration of the movie, but because of her breakthrough performance.
Other celebrities would most likely cringe as soon as they were informed that they will be going bare on the big screen. However, Jennifer Aniston admitted that she actually loved the experience.
Jennifer Aniston said at a festival press conference on Tuesday, "It was actually extremely liberating. As women, we do feel like we have to live up to an expectation, whether it's on camera or going to the market or whatever it is. And the truth of the matter is that's not always the way it is. We don't always have our high heels on. We don't always have our make-up on."
The director of "Cake" was Daniel Barnz and he told Jennifer Aniston during the press conference, "Somehow, in this film, because of the beauty that comes from the inside, I've never found you more beautiful." Jennifer Aniston responded to this compliment with, "Let's get married," which caused the crowd to erupt in laughter.
Barnz believed that "Cake" needed someone likeable in order for the role of Claire to be perfect. He knew that Jennifer Aniston was the perfect choice for Claire's acerbic character. He said, "Because the character herself can be acerbic and difficult and harsh, we needed someone who you can forgive immediately. And, I think Jen has such innate warmth to her and I think she's so beloved by people that it made sense."
