Fans of the horror movie "Sinister" can now jump into excitement with new cast and plot details unveiled for its sequel, "Sinister 2."
According to Screenrant, the original movie stars Ethan Hawke whose role is a crime lawyer who moves his family into a house where a slaughter happened in the past and left a girl missing.
His character, Ellison Oswalt, later on discovers eerie home movies. He later on realizes his family is linked to some kind of demonic entity that steals children.
James Ransone, the actor who played the odd character of the Deputy in the original movie is reported to reprise his role in the upcoming horror sequel.
The details were first reported by Deadline stating that "A Knight's Tale" actress Shannyn Sossamon will instead play the lead role for the second movie.
She will play the role of a mother who moves to the haunted home with her twin sons.
There are theories that the sequel will continue showing murders from the previous movie but Focus Features has not yet revealed how it will be related to the original film, states Slashfilm.
Many fans would certainly look forward to seeing several new twists on the second film. Just like in the original plot where the characters were built up along the way for the audience to comprehend the connection of the numerous killings, from one to another.
The person set to direct the "Sinister 2" sequel is Ciaran Foy with Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill penning the script. Producers are also named to be Jason Blum, Charles Layton, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Derrickson as well while executive producers of the movie are Patrice Theroux and Xavier Marchand.
Focus Features will also release Blumhouse soon while eOne is currently shooting another highly anticipated horror franchise installment, "Insidious: Chapter 3."
The two lead roles in the all new "Sinister 2" sequel are expected to do justice for the second movie. In fact, Sossamon is not a newbie in making horror flicks since she is set to star in another eerie series under Fox called "Wayward Pines."
Other works in her acting resume include "Mistresses" and "The End of Love."
On the other hand, Ransone's former projects are "Boardwalk Empire," "Low Winter Sun" and he is now filming for "A Valley of Violence."
It was further on announced that the "Sinister 2" sequel will start shooting by the coming week, in Chicago.
With the original movie having grossed at $82 million worldwide on a relatively micro budget of $3 million, many early on assumed that it definitely deserves a sequel.
"Sinister 2" is set to be released on August 21, 2015.
