Memphis Teen Mob - Dozens of teenagers stormed through a Tennessee grocery store parking lot Saturday night, randomly attacking innocent people including a 25-year-old man and two store employees.
The shocking and vicious attack dubbed as the Memphis teen mob which involved an estimated 100 to 120 young individuals, was reportedly captured on a cellphone video by a female witness.
In the Memphis teen mob video, many young adults could be seen rushing through the Kroger store parking lot near Highland Street and Poplar Avenue before they knock down a young man, repeatedly kicking and punching him on the ground and throwing pumpkins at him.
Memphis Police said, the group which emerged from CiCi's Pizza and was chanting "fam mob" first jumped on a 25-year-old customer as he left his car to enter Kroger.
Two store employees, ages 17 and 18, were also attacked as they stepped in to try to help. Both were reportedly "struck several times in the head and face while being knocked to the ground". They claimed large pumpkins were thrown at their heads and they were eventually knocked unconscious.
All three victims refused to be taken to the hospital and were instead treated at the scene, NBC affiliate WMC reported.
One teen has been arrested so far in the Memphis teen mob incident, and a hundred more suspects are still being hunted down. The 15-year-old arrested suspect was reportedly charged with aggravated assault, aggravated riot and other counts.
"We have received several statements from those who were involved. We are checking surrounding locations for available footage and we will continue to follow up on all leads," Sgt. Karen Rudolph said, CBS has learned.
"It is extremely troubling to see how many young people were involved, especially on the heels of last week's youth forum," Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong said in a statement obtained by NY Daily News.
He added that some parents of the suspects could probably face consequences for their kids' actions.
"Last night's events clearly demonstrates a lack of parental controls and if warranted these parents will also be held accountable," Armstrong said of the Memphis teen mob assault.
