Jack The Ripper Movie Starring Johnny Depp Inspired Detective [VIDEO & REPORT]

The Jack the Ripper murders in the late 1800's was named one of the most gruesome cases that remained unsolved to this day. However, an amateur detective who dedicated fourteen years of his life into the Jack the Ripper cases has finally unmasked the real villain. According to him, the Jack the Ripper movie starring Johnny Depp had been his inspiration.

Johnny Depp starred in a variety of films that inspired a number of people across the globe. Who could ever forget the little girl who wanted to start a mutiny in her school and invited Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) to start it with her? However, the most unlikely inspiration for Russell Edwards, author of "Naming Jack the Ripper," was Johnny Depp's character in the Jack the Ripper Movie, "From Hell."

Russell Edwards is the man who allegedly unmasked the identity of Jack the Ripper. According to his extensive research, the Ripper was none other than Aaron Kosminski. Kosminski was one of six suspected individuals of the five murders in Whitechapel, London during the year 1888.

Kosminski was a Polish immigrant who had later died in the year 1919 in a mental institution. It was Aaron's DNA that led to Russell's findings. A shawl owned by one of the victims, Catherine Eddowes, had definitive DNA of Aaron. While Russell's findings are yet to be tested and reviewed, the case continues to be unsolved.

However, it is quite interesting to note that a Hollywood film had inspired Edwards to work on Jack the Ripper. The Jack the Ripper movie entitled "From Hell" started it all stars Johnny Depp and Heather Graham.

"When my involvement in the 126-year-old case began, I was just another armchair detective, interested enough to conduct my own extensive research after watching the Johnny Depp film From Hell. It piqued my curiosity about the 1888 killings when five - possibly more - prostitutes were butchered in London's East End," said Edwards in an exclusive report with the Daily Mail.
