Rob Ford debate tonight was more of a Rob Ford roasting than a Rob Ford debate. In the first of the four Rob Ford debates that have been schedules just this week, it would seem that Ford was repeatedly shot down by John Tory and the other debate candidates.
The main gist of the statements that were meant to shoot down Rob Ford debate were focused on his "fantasy" plans on transit, as well as on his constant lying about his success as the mayor.
The Rob Ford debate was held at the Hilton hotel on the afternoon of Thursday. The four top candidates involved in the Rob Ford debate were questioned on infrastructure, jobs, and transit. The Rob Ford debate was actually organized by the Toronto Region Board of Trade and the Globe and Mail.
During this particular campaign, it would seem that the recent Rob Ford debate was considered to be his most forceful and pointed takedown. Literally speaking, Tory challenged Rob Ford debate to "bring it on," as the two of them squared off.
Rob Ford debate, on the other hand, was not about to go down without putting his two cents in, and attacked Tory every chance he got. Tory is currently leading the polls and he has drawn most of the praise from the crowd that was mainly comprised of business leaders.
In almost every question regarding his future plans for the city, Rob Ford debate kept responding that he already ordered work to be underway or, if not that, it has already been done. He said about the needed repairs for the presently crumbling Gardiner Expressway, "It's done. We're fixing it. We're already investing in it."
This was when Tory decided to step in. He challenged Rob Ford debate, "Do you think half the time because you say something that it means it's true?" Right after he asks this question, the crowd immediately erupted in laughter and applause. Tory then added, "You haven't done these things. It's failed leadership."
