Albino Cobra On The Loose In Thousand Oaks! Officials Warned Residents To Keep Pets Indoors And To Keep Doors Locked!

Albino cobra has gotten loose in Thousand Oaks. Local officials have now warned residents of the area to keep all of their pets indoors and to keep their doors locked to avoid an unwanted encounter with the lethal albino cobra.

Officers of the local animal control, as well as the officials of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, have been scouring the area for the "very dangerous and venomous" monocle albino cobra. They have been searching the perimeter of the 1300 block of Rancho Lane, where the dangerous albino cobra was last seen after getting its fans into a resident's dog.

The dog that has been bitten on Monday by the albino cobra has already been taken to a local veterinary hospital for treatment, according to Brandon Dowling, who happens to be the spokesperson of the county animal control. He also further added that the owner of the dog that has been bitten did not report the incident until late Tuesday.

A single bite from an albino cobra can actually lead to death in as short as an hour. However, Alfred Aguirre, and officer of the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, has stated that the effects of an albino cobra bite would largely depend on the victim's immune system.

To be on the safe side, Aguirre advised all of the residents within the area to keep their pets, whether it is a small Chihuahua or a huge Great Dane, inside their homes. Even if the preferred diet of an albino cobra primarily consists of rodents, Aguirre just does not want to have any other pet casualties.

Officials of the local animal control have also notified the Ventura County Medical Center's emergency center. In the case the need arises, an anti-venom for the albino cobra has already been procured.
