Protests in Islamabad Today: Deaths and Hundreds of People Injured As Khan’s Supporters Clash With Police

Protests in Islamabad has gone more intense today after more than hundreds of people have been injured, both coming from the police and of the opposing group on Saturday.

The tension between the supporters of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri and of the government is already building up each day. In a recent report, it was said that more than 200 people have already occupied places in the hospital in the area after getting injured in their face off. The protesters of the political opposition have already gained too much confidence and strength as they recently attempted to attack the official residence of Prime Minister Nawz Sharif.

As protesters forced their way towards the prime minister's Islamabad residence, an expected confrontation between the group and the members of the authority reportedly erupted which actually became more of a physical fight. Despite of the government trying to prevent the use of force in terms of dealing with the opposition group, the protests even enhanced today. Police already responded to the acts of protesters after they forcefully tried to remove the barrier placed in the area for them not to be able to gain easy access in the buildings.

The Islamabad protests which already gone worse today is said to be not stopping unless Prime Minister Sharif will step down from his position, but it seems like the men carrying axes and hammers will not stop him from staying on his post as he did not comment about the idea of resigning. Khan and Qadri wanted Sharif to resign allegedly due to corruption and electoral fraud.

Protests in Islamabad have intensified today after the Khan and Qadri encouraged their supporters to actually move forward on the grounds of the prime minister's official residence. Three deaths have been noted according to the Guardian while many injured individuals where some are police are said to be staying in the hospital seeking care. The act of violence is still expected to double especially now that Khan asked his supporters to come out in the streets in different cities across Pakistan.
