US military operations in Iraq is consuming up to $7.5 million of the government's wealth per day.
It seem s like a huge part of the American taxes are going to the military aspect of the government after it was recently revealed that millions of dollars are being spent every day when it comes to the military activities of the United States. The shocking amount regarding the said activity has been recently disclosed during a press briefing at the Pentagon. The revelation was actually said to be the first time that someone in the office has mentioned the estimated figures that has been costing the government.
On August 29, Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby said that the military operations conducted by the US government against the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) have been already estimated to reach at $7.5 million per day. Although Pentagon did not really released the exact over-all expenses that they have made ever since they started the military efforts weeks ago; with the said average cost, it can be concluded that they have already spent about more than $500 million.
"it's costing us about $7.5 million per day." Kirby revealed about the said expenses which started from June 16.
The said daily average expenses was said to be brought by the money spent for fuels of the 110 airstrike missions as well as on the missiles and different kinds of weapons being fired. Aside from the weaponries, the millions of dollars spent by the government also include payments for the military personnel that said to assist the government of Iraq, but the said amount does not just stops there since it was also said that the Pentagon might need more money in 2015.
Kirby also said that the expenses could even increase as the military operation gets intense. Following the death of American citizen, James Foley, it is also believed that the US military troops will be expanding its operation from Iraq to Syria which means that an average cost of $7.5 million per day could potentially double.
