Katie Holmes leaves New York to continue her life in California as she attempts to give her only child, Suri a normal and private life.
It seems like the 35 year-old actress finds the constant publicity that she has in the Big Apple that she already decided to buy a new home and leave the city of spotlights. With a growing child, the mother of one seemed to want Suri have some normal life that's away from the cameras and controversies. According to TMZ, "The Giver" actress secretly bought a new 6,000 square foot home in The Oaks in Calabasas, California.
The decision of Katie Holmes to leave New York City is definitely a great change in her career, but it also marks a change in her family. The actress previously lived in a three-bedroom rented apartment in Chelsea where she and her little girl lived since her divorce from Tom Cruise. The former couple previously dubbed as TomKat actually lived in a 10, 286 square feet Beverly Hills mansion which was worth $35 million.
Although the actress new abode is quite cheaper than she and her ex-husband shared, it surely is a great home for her and her daughter. Reports spread that the said home is worth around $3.7 million, but the deal has been tightly sealed that any violations could cost $1 million.
To make everything new to Katie Holmes and daughter Suri as they leave New York, they reportedly added a new member in their small family. Before moving in to their new home, the duo reportedly adopted a Chihuahua from a rescue shelter and named it Maple. It looks like the actress decision to move in the said community will bring much joy to them especially that they also have their cute pet.
Katie Holmes option to leave her former New York home will be expected to have some more benefit to her and her daughter who's already going to school.
