"MythBusters" cast Tory Belleci, Grant Imahara, and Kari Byron, have now decided to leave the show after serving science-loving fans for 10 years. This decision was officially announced by Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage during last night's "MythBusters" episode.
These three former "MythBusters" members took to Twitter to state that the management of the internationally popular show on Discovery Channel has decided to take on a "new direction" and it would seem that they were not part of that direction.
Byron said in a series of tweets, "I guess you guys are finding out the news right about now. After a decade of the 'MythBusters,' we are no longer with the show. Thank you to all the fans who have supported us. The show is taking a new direction. It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters. I am sad for an ending, but there will be exciting new adventures for us."
FOX411 was bold enough to ask for the exact reason why the three of them would not be returning to the next season of "MythBusters." The show's representatives did not elaborate on this "new direction" that the show was planning to take.
Discovery Channel's senior publicist informed FOX411 through an email, "Kari, Tory, and Grant have been an incredibly important part of 'MythBusters' for over a decade. From explosions to car crashes to even more explosions, this trio has helped shape 'MythBusters' into the Emmy-nominated series it is today. Everyone at Discovery wants to thank them for their tireless work busting almost 1,000 myths, and we wish them all the best on their future endeavors."
Taking a look at the axed "MythBusters" trio's posts on social media, it would seem that there are no hard feelings between them and the show's big bosses. Belleci also posted on his Twitter account, "It's been an amazing ride for 10 years! We couldn't have done it without you guys. You're the best fans anyone could wish for. Thank you."
