Steelers busted - Running backs LeGarrette Blount and Le'Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers were arrested for drug possession Wednesday afternoon, after they were pulled over by a cop in Ross Township, TMZ reported.
According to several reports about the news dubbed as Steelers busted, the incident began about 1:30 p.m. along McKnight Road when a motorcycle officer who happened to stop at a red light, smelled marijuana emanating from a black Camaro.
The vehicle was then pulled over in the Pool City parking lot by officer Sean Stafiej, and it was discovered that Bell was driving with Blount in the front passenger seat, and an unidentified woman was in the back seat of the car.
Investigators of the Steelers busted incident said Officer Stafiej also recovered a Ziploc-style bag holding approximately 20 grams of marijuana on the console.
The Ross Township police said that the trio admitted to "collectively possessing the bag of marijuana," and they were cooperative with the authorities.
Bell had blood drawn at the UPMC Passavant Hospital to confirm suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana.
Although the three involved in the Steelers busted case were eventually released from police custody, they are expected to face drug possession charges, according to Ross Township Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp.
Blount and their female companion could possibly be charged with misdemeanor possession, while Bell could be hit with misdemeanor DUI and possession charges.
Cops said the Steelers busted trio will be notified of future charges through mail.
The traffic stop reportedly occurred just an hour before the Steelers' charter plane was set for a take off to Philadelphia, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
