Robin Williams dies - The actor was found unconscious and not breathing inside his San Francisco Tiburon home Monday morning, and was pronounced dead shortly after, a press release issued by the coroner's division of the sheriff's office stated.
He was identified in the press release by his full name, Robin McLaurin Williams, 63.
The reason Robin Williams died is believed to be "a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made," according to the coroner.
The press release is said to have noted that a forensic examination is currently scheduled for Tuesday.
Robin Williams' rep confirmed his death to multiple media outlets such as Entertainment Weekly, USA Today and E! News.
"Robin Williams passed away this morning," Mara Buxbaum, president of his PR firm, said. "He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."
On July 31, Robin Williams made his last social media posts in Twitter and Instagram, wishing his daughter Zelda Rae, a happy 25th birthday while posting a snap of himself and her. He captioned the photo: "Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl," according to USA Today.
Just last month, before Robin Williams dies, TMZ reported that the "Good Will Hunting" star had checked himself into Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota to maintain his sobriety.
Robin Williams was set to reprise his role as Theodore Roosevelt in the third "Night at the Museum" movie.
In a statement, Fox expressed its sadness over the star's death, saying: "There really are no words to describe the loss of Robin Williams. He was immensely talented, a cherished member of our community, and part of the Fox family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans. He will be deeply missed."
