Erin Andrews Bashed by Kirk Minihane On-Air; Fox Sports Now Pulling All Advertising from Entercom due to His Obnoxious Sexist Comments about Andrews

Erin Andrews, famous sports newscaster, has been the gist of many online critiques recently. The bashes against Erin Andrews particularly became rampant when she was announced to be the replacement of Pam Oliver at Fox Sports.

Kirk Minihane, host of WEEI, was not shy at all in ranting about Erin Andrews, in a manner that was considered by many as "boorish" and "sexist."

Minihane was actually talking about an interview that Erin Andrews did with Adam Wainwright, player of the St. Louis Cardinals. The two were discussing the latter's grooved pitches back on July 16. However, Minihane went off on his own personal tirade and called Erin Andrews a term that is oftentimes used for a female dog.

Minihane said, "What a [expletive]! I hate her! What a gutless [expletive]! Seriously, go away. Drop dead. I mean seriously, what the hell is wrong with her? First of all, follow-up. Second of all, the guy admitted he did it. He told reporters he threw a couple of pipe bombs. How is that social media's fault? I seriously hate her so much. Social media is the reason she has a big house! Shut up."

Perhaps, Minihane was apprehended for his behavior as he issued a public apology on air the following Wednesday. Still, Minihane just could not stop himself from insulting Erin Andrews, even though he was trying to apologize.

He said, "I used a word to reference Erin Andrews that I shouldn't have used to reference Erin Andrew. I will completely cop to that. I said it. That was a mistake using that word. I just feel like it was the wrong time to use that specific word to describe her."

Halfway through his apology, however, he stated, "I will say this: I think she stinks at her job. I don't think she's very smart. I think Fox only hired her because she's good-looking. I think if she weighed 15 pounds more, she'd be a waitress at Perkins. I mean, that's what I believe."

Eric Shanks, Fox Sports Presidents, was very unimpressed with this "apology." They wrote a letter to David Field, the CEO of Entercom Communications Corp. and stated that Fox Sports will no longer be advertising on Entercom radio stations in the foreseeable future. Because of Minihane's juvenile comments about Erin Andrews, he was suspended for one whole week after his tirade.
