Liam Neeson is still in denial to the fact that his wife has been gone for five years already as he still feels the pain.
In a recent interview with Loaded magazine, the "Star Wars" actor has opened up his emotions about the tragic passing of his children's mother way back in 2009. It has been revealed by the actor how he struggled emotionally as he tried to cope with Natasha Richardson's death. Richardson's tragic passing has been actually haunting him for years since there is still the part of him that has been longing for her and is still expecting that she will be coming back someday.
"There's periods now when I hear the door opening, especially the first couple of years... Anytime I hear that door opening, I still think I'm going to hear her." The actor revealed about his late lover.
The actor admitted that he still can't believe what happened to their family was real. It can be recalled that Liam Neeson's wife suffered a head injury in 2009 from a ski falling accident. It was first thought that Richardson's injuries were just minor, but just few days later, she died in the hospital.
Liam Neeson even recalled the most heartbreaking moment when he was told that his wife was brain dead. Seeing all the tubes attached to her, the actor already thought she's gone.
So when I saw her and saw all these tubes and stuff that was my immediate thought, 'OK, these tubes have to go. She's gone', the actor admitted.
According to Liam Neeson, he and his wife had a pact that when anyone of them ends up in a vegetative state, someone has to pull the plugs. It was then the actor along with his family has turned off the life support that has kept Richardson alive. The couple has two kids Michael, 18, and Daniel, 17.
