Adam Sandler Featured in Upcoming Action-Comedy, “Pixels,” with Peter Dinklage

Adam Sandler is seen walking down the road with a variety of stars, including Peter Dinklage, in the recently released still image for the upcoming flick, "Pixels."

This highly anticipated action-comedy will be showcasing the talents of Adam Sandler, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin James, Brian Cox, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad. Plus, it will be directed by Chris Columbus. "Pixels" has already been scheduled for an official release in the United Kingdom on the 27th of May 2015.

In this upcoming Adam Sandler flick, the story revolves around a group of intergalactic aliens that misinterpret video feeds of several classic arcade games as a war declaration against them. As a result, they attack Earth, using the arcade games as models for their assaults.

President Will Cooper, played by James, has to call on his childhood best friend, Sam Brenner, played by Adam Sandler, who happens to be an 80s video game champion. Presently, though, Adam Sandler works as a home theater installer, but still has the skills when it comes to playing arcade games.

It is Adam Sandler's mission to lead a team of old-school arcade gamers, played by Gad and Dinklage, to defeat the aliens and save planet Earth. Monaghan will be playing the role of the team's unique weapons specialist.

Adam Sandler's upcoming movie actually shows Sony Pictures in collaboration with various classic video game companies in for the permission to use their iconic characters, such as Galaga, Q*Bert, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Frogger, Space Invaders, and Centipede. The companies that Sony Pictures worked with are Nintendo, Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., Atari Interactive, Bandai Namco Games, Inc., Taito Corporation, Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

This upcoming action-comedy with Adam Sandler was actually based on a story by Tim Herlihy and a screenplay by Herlihy and Timothy Dowling, which, in turn, was based on an original short film of the same title by Patrick Jean.
