"Avengers: Age of Ultron" has been bested by "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice." During the Comic Con last Saturday, these two upcoming hero flicks were presented, and it would seem that DC has beaten Marvel, at least when it came to early online chatter.
The upcoming collaboration movie of Batman and Superman edged out the "Avengers: Age of Ultron," as it generated 112,108 total mentions and 8,356 intent-to-view mentioned, or 7%, according to the popular research group Way to Blue. "Avengers: Age of Ultron," on the other hand, only got 62,542 overall mentions, but did get a higher intent-to-see reaction from the masses, at 8,483, or 14%.
Critics believe that what made DC more talked-about, as compared to the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" flick, is the surprise appearance of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. Cavill plays the role of Superman, while Affleck has been selected to portray the role of Batman. Moreover, Gal Gadot as the amazingly gorgeous Wonder Woman will also be featured in this upcoming DC movie.
During the Comic Con, Warner Bros. and DC, once again, dominated the studio buzz, as comprised of 45% of the conversation. Marvel and Disney was close behind, at 23%, particularly with the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and the mention of "Ant-Man." Plus, Marvel also made an official announcement about James Gunn's new action-filled flick, "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," which generated 97,887 mentions.
Apart from Warner Bros. and Disney "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Legendary Entertainment also hit some scores last Saturday, which was typically one of Hollywood's biggest Comic Con days, given the number of attendees who were present during the weekend. Legendary Entertainment Chief, Thomas Tull, hinted about some plans to make a sequel to "Godzilla" and "Skull Island," focusing on the island that served as home to King Kong.
