Why Pay to Eat Breakfast in Bed?

Most people would agree that there is no place like home. Others would also agree, "Home is where you heart is..."

But if someone finds pleasure and comfort within the walls of their own home, why do some of these people visit Bed and Breakfasts?

According to a B&B located in Boonville, MO, "Each and every true Bed and Breakfast is someone's home."

Staying in a B&B has advantages over staying in just any other hotel. It is believed that you are getting the opportunity to experience more of a "home away from home" venue.

Some obvious reasons would be that if you were already on the road and traveling with family, a B&B would be perfect! A home away from home would be more than adequate for those in that situation.

However, are people around the world planning trips specifically to a B&B just to relax away from home? Is there a valid reason to want to pay to eat breakfast in a bed that is not yours?

Below is list of the first five best B&B's in the US - according to TripAdvisor.

Historic Oak Hill Inn - Natchez, Mississippi

In 2005, Oak Hill won the Restoration Award from the Natchez Historic Foundation, and has been named on of the Top 25 B&Bs in the U.S by TripAdvisor since 2012.

With the antebellum style built into the homes, Oak Hill features a formal parlor, a dining room, and a lavishing central hallway.

Oak Hill comes with original cypress floors and unique sliding windows in the upstairs hallway that provide cross ventilation of the rooms.

Some accommodations include a downstairs suite with luxurious granite showers and two upstairs rooms.

Arbor Guest House - Napa California

Arbor Guest is an elegant colonial revival one that offers all modern amenities and comforts of any luxury hotel. It is said to be just as much a part of the roots of the area as the wineries that dot the countryside of California's famous Napa Valley!

According to Carol's Garden Inn, a B&B is the better option compared to staying at a hotel/motel. "Chances are that once you try a B&B, You'll never want to stay in a hotel or motel again."

So, maybe booking a room in a B&B is not what the trip is about - Unless the point of the trip is to have a romantic getaway.

Instead of booking expensive hotels with all things commercialized, now may be your time to try out a B&B and experience a little piece of home on your next vacation. There's no risk at stake!
