China's river mysteriously gone red on early Thursday morning resulting to mixed reactions while fear among the residents also developed.
Many local residents were in shocked when the water in Xinmeizhou village in eastern China's Zhejiang province changed into a blood-like color. According to the report, everything seems to look normal in the area around 5 a.m.; however, just about an hour later, the color of the water totally looked different. It has been also said that residents in the area were able to smell a strange odor in the air.
The shocking news has undeniably brought fear to the locals as many people tends to see it in a seemingly mystical way; however, authorities have already established a team that would investigate the sudden red color change in China river. What happened was a great shocker to the area since it has been revealed that the water is normally clear in the said place. Residents also claimed that they've been fishing in the said water and they were also drinking from it since it is just naturally good and clean.
The mysterious case of China's river turning red is said to be the first time to happen in the said province. To rule out any other issues, inspectors coming from Wenzhou Environmental Protection Bureau are trying to investigate the real cause of the incident after obtaining samples of the blood-like water. Although the exact cause of the incident is still not known, they strongly believe that it may be brought by an act of pollution.
According to the investigators, the water samples seem to indicate that its unusual color was a result of illegal dumping in the water. ABC news reported that Jianfeng Xiao, Chief of the bureau told China News that somebody dumped an artificial coloring into the water which turned China's river to red.
"We suspect that somebody dumped artificial coloring in the water because he thought the typhoon yesterday would cause heavy rain, and nobody would notice [the color]," he said in the news.
