Norway Terror Threat Tips Believed to be “Credible”; Norway Terror Threat to Mercilessly Happen “Within Days”?

Norway terror threat warnings have been issued by officials of the United States. According to them, there is a "credible" Norway terror threat that has recently been tipped by a top Norwegian intelligence official.

As reported by The Associated Press, Benedicte Bjoernland, head of the Norwegian security service PST, has stated just earlier today, that Norway has received "reliable information" regarding an imminent "concrete threat" to Norway from an extremist group who fought in Syria. Bjoernland is concerned that this "impending" Norway terror threat could suddenly happen in just a matter of days since the threat has been made known. He said, "It was unspecific about what the target might be."

US officials have also informed ABC News that the information they received regarding a Norway terror threat was "credible." However, they refused to provide any further details about the matter.

According to the reports provided by The AP, the PST has actually identified that 50 people have travelled from Norway in order to take part in the Syrian civil war. Approximately half of this number has now returned home.

US security officials have actually been warning people for the past few months about a possible terror threat to the United States from Western passport holders who went to Syria to get involved in the fight. Only last month, an anonymous person was briefed on intelligence on US fighters in Syria, and he tipped that around 100 American citizens had gone over to the warzone in order to obtain certain ammunitions during the conflict in the Middle East.

In January of this year, ABC News reported that "dozens" of people were already placed under strict surveillance after they returned from Syria, more particularly so when a Norway terror threat was hinted. Additionally, only last week, the US State Department identified a Norwegian alleged member of Al Qaeda's Yemen affiliate as a terrorist. However, a certain US official has stated that this person was highly unlikely to be linked to the current Norway terror threat.
