Magnificent Hikes in Western Washington

Washington State is notorious for all the great outdoorsy activities it has to offer. Being active is definitely easy when you live in such a beautifully green and mountainous area. Hiking is a great aerobic activity that many Washingtonians like to take part in on the weekends or on a really clear sunny day. Some of the hikes that are favored among the locals would be Rattle Snake Ledge, Poo Poo Point, and at Snoqualmie Falls.

Rattle Snake Ledge is a great hike for the whole family. Even if you don't make it up to the top, there is so much beautiful scenery with all the trees and overlooking Rattle Snake Lake. The hike is approximately four miles round trip. Once you reach the top, you get to sit upon a giant boulder that overlooks the mountainous region and down at the lake; a perfect spot for a lunch. Rattle Snake Ledge is just the first stop on the mountain, which continues up to Rattle Snake Peak, which is not for the weak hearted. But if you're looking for a great work out, continue on up to the Peak.

Poo Poo Point is famous for its unusual name. Located on Tiger Mountain, Poo Poo Point is one of the smaller hikes on the mountain; a beautiful and easier hike for one to take. Poo Poo Point at the peak also offers a parasailing station for the extra adventurous.

Snoqualmie Falls is an iconic landmark of the Pacific North West. The roaring falls any season are beautiful to visit. The view point is the top of the cliff, and you can hike down the little path to the bottom of the falls to get another view of the falls. Bring your rain coat if you go during Fall or Winter though, the mist from the falls can reach you from the bottom. The quick and gorgeous hike features lots of signs about the native plants and how the water from the waterfall is converted into energy. Once you hike back up you can visit the falls souvenir shop and grab a coffee or a hot chocolate to warm up, or lemonade to cool down.

Hiking is definitely something to schedule on your next trip to the Pacific North West in Western Washington.
