Anti-Jewish leaflets have recently been discovered in several vehicles in the Pulaski Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side. According to police, six vehicles on the 6300 block of North Monticello Avenue were targeted with the anti-Jewish leaflets.
The anti-Jewish leaflets were discovered, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. Estrada detailed the anti-Jewish leaflets found and said that they were discovered atop the windshields of the vehicles Saturday morning around 8:30am.
The Chicago Tribune reports that residents in the area have also been asked regarding the incident. They said that the anti-Jewish leaflets have been made to threaten Jewish people in connection with the conflict in Gaza. The conflict reportedly began Jul. 8 and the anti-Jewish leaflets are threatening violence if Israel does not pull out of Gaza, said residents and police.
The anti-Jewish leaflets were likely made in response to Israel's fighting in the Gaza Strip.
According to JP Updates, the incident of the anti-Jewish leaflets found on the Chicago vehicles came one day before countless Palestinians were expected to converge in Chicago for a "die-in," demanding an "immediate end to Israel's bombardment of the Palestinians of Gaza."
The war has reportedly left a lot of Palestinians, as well as more than a dozen Israeli soldiers dead.
Anti-Jewish leaflets are currently being investigated by the Chicago Police Department's Hate Crime unit.
