The 39-year-old originally faced four felony counts for the Octomom welfare fraud case. She could also have been sentenced to more than six years in jail for the charges against her. However, prosecutors had hoped from the beginning to work out a plea bargain so Suleman could still care for her children.
According to reports, Suleman has carefully kept her octuplets away from public view since they were born.
Octomom welfare fraud case, just like any other fraud case with first time recipients, is reportedly common for the to charge with a felony and then reduce it to a misdemeanor once the money is paid back.
