Brandon Routh Superman performance may have not won him another "Superman" franchise, but Routh has been chosen to make a comeback to the world of DC in another manner. Brandon Routh Superman will soon be joining the ridiculously gorgeous cast of "Arrow" in the show's 3rd season. He will be playing the recurring role of Ray Palmer, who is also known as The Atom, a DC character who has the ability to shrink himself, right down the smallest atomic level.
TVLine made an official announcement regarding Routh's casting, and also gave a few spoilers on how the avid fans of "Arrow" will be meeting The Atom in the 3rd season. The statement said, "An unparalleled scientist and inventor, Ray will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver and (rumored love interest) Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. Palmer's plans for Queen Consolidated's Applied Sciences Division will be shrouded in mystery." The 34-year-old Brand Routh Superman has actually signed for a 14-episode arc with the show.
Although it may be true that this is not the 1st time The Atom has made an appearance in DC-inspired flicks, it is only in "Arrow" that a size-changing character will be featured and seen in live action.
This is actually Brandon Routh Superman's 4th comic book-derived project following his performance in "Superman Returns." He was also part of "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" and "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night."
Looking back, Brand Routh Superman performance was considered as awkward by many, but Routh himself looked marvelous in the cape. Still, he was not able to land himself huge roles since then and merely settled with smaller projects over the years. Routh's 14-episode time with "Arrow" could be his next big break.
The 3rd season of "Arrow" has been scheduled to come back to the small screen on the 8th of October. It looks like the fans of Brandon Routh Superman will have to wait a wee bit longer.
